Innovations and transformation in banking for Furthering Financial Inclusion
July 2017,Mumbai

Governance Now 2nd India Banking Reforms Conclave 2017

Reforms is a journey, not a destination. With Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to make India a cashless economy, there is a need to bring changes in banks and the way banking is done, for the financial inclusion and smoother transition to the cashless regime. In August 2017, the PMJDY will be in its 3rd anniversary, and it has already banked the country to a great extent. Guinness World Records has recognised the achievements made under PMJDY for opening 18,096,130 accounts by Banks in a week (from 23 to 29 August 2014) as a part of Financial Inclusion Campaign. In fact transfer of subsidy of more than Rs 17,446 crore through Jan Dhan accounts from November 2014 to July 2015. Numbers have changed to the much larger extent.

After the financial inclusion drive, demonetization has increased the financial transactions on those accounts. To discuss the reforms in banking from inclusion to transactions, and from agriculture to business, Governance Now India’s premier governance and public policy magazine from Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) TV group, is pleased to announce the second edition of India Banking Reforms Conclave. The conclave is scheduled to be held in July 2017 in Mumbai with the objective of creating a dialogue amongst Banks (public and private), Regulators, Academia, Economists and industry experts to generate insights into innovations and transformation in banks for furthering financial inclusion in the country. How different socio-economic fabric can be included in driving the economics of the country.
